Does the treatment require downtime?
The minimal downtime associated with UltraClear is one of its highlights. Traditional ablative lasers can come with several weeks of recovery. With an UltraClear treatment, the downtime can vary depending on what type of settings are used. On average, patients will have about 2 to 3 days of redness and some skin flaking. For more aggressive treatments, patients may have about 10 to 14 days of downtime. Depending on your treatment intensity, this period could be shorter or longer. In each case, Dr. Lee will let you know what to expect based on your treatment plan details.
When will I see the results?
Typically, patients can start seeing benefits within 1 week. With the damaged skin gone, healthier skin can begin to shine through. From there, the benefits only continue. As collagen and elastin production continues, patients will see continued improvements in skin texture and quality. A single treatment is enough to start seeing results, but some patients may need a series to fully address concerns. The number you need will depend on what you want to achieve. For example, scarring or deeper pigmentation concerns can take 3 treatments spaced several weeks apart. Milder concerns may only need 1 or 2 visits to improve.
How long do the results last?
Patients can see their treatment results last from several months to up to several years. For some concerns, like acne scars, your results may last a lifetime. We may recommend a routine maintenance treatment and a great skincare regimen to help maintain your results.
