Mick York, PA-C

Mick York, PA-C is a board-certified Physician Assistant specializing in oculofacial plastic surgery. He has been trained by and works in close collaboration with Dr. Bradford Lee.

Born and raised in Northern California, Mick graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and worked in physical therapy.  He then attended PA School at Clarkson University in Upstate New York, where he graduated with honors with a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies and was inducted into the Pi Alpha Honor Society.  With a passion for surgery, he completed elective surgical rotations including a cardiac surgery rotation at St. Joseph’s Health Hospital, ranked one of America’s 50 best hospitals for cardiac surgery.  Here, he learned best practices in surgical assisting and managing post-operative care for complex surgical patients.

At Oculofacial Plastic Surgery of Hawaii, Mick works side-by-side and in close partnership with Dr. Lee both in surgery and in clinic. He helps with patient consultations, surgical assisting, post-operative care and suture removal, minor surgical procedures, and laser treatments for skin rejuvenation and scar rehabilitation. His friendly nature and excellent communication skills help him connect with a broad range of patients, and he always tries to ensure that patients have their preferences, concerns, and wishes understood by the surgical team.

Mick recently moved to Honolulu from Northern California along with his mother, an Oahu native who was born and raised on the North Shore. In his free time, Mick enjoys playing basketball, hiking, paddle boarding, working out at the gym, traveling, trying new local foods, and spending time with his family and two French bulldogs.

Tammy Thai, APRN, NP-C

Tammy Thai, APRN, NP-C

Tammy Thai, MSN, APRN, NP-C is our Oculoplastics and Aesthetics Nurse Practitioner. She brings a wealth of experience to our practice, having trained and worked at some of the top hospitals on the mainland and in Hawaii. Tammy obtained her bachelor’s degree at the University of California, San Diego, majoring in Human Development. She then pursued her nursing degrees (BSN and MSN) at The George Washington University, where she graduated summa cum laude and became a board-certified Nurse Practitioner (NP-C).

Tammy was fortunate to train and work as an Operating Room nurse at UCLA Hospital, ranked in the Top 5 Hospitals in the Nation by U.S. News and World Report. For three years, she served as a circulating and scrub nurse where she learned best practices in nursing and how to care for patients throughout their surgical journeys. After moving to Hawaii, she worked as a Main Operating Room nurse at The Queen’s Medical Center, where she gained further experience caring for the most complex surgical patients in Hawaii.

Tammy brings this wealth of knowledge and experience to Oculofacial Plastic Surgery of Hawaii, where she works seamlessly and in close collaboration with Dr. Lee in surgery and in clinic. She conducts new patient consultations, assists with post-operative care and suture removal, performs minor surgical procedures (e.g. lesion excisions and biopsies, drainage of chalazion/stye), and uses lasers and injections to reduce the appearance of scars. She is thrilled to be working in the field of oculofacial plastic surgery as an integral part of Dr. Lee’s clinical team.

Tammy also specializes in non-surgical aesthetic procedures, such as neuromodulators (botulinum toxin injections), dermal fillers, laser skin rejuvenation, chemical peels, and platelet rich plasma (PRP) treatments. She has attended numerous seminars and trainings on cosmetic injectables, but most importantly, she has trained under Dr. Lee’s meticulous tutelage. She applies her gentle touch, attention to detail, and eye for aesthetics to help her patients look their absolute best using the same best practices techniques used by Dr. Lee. She wants all of her patients to have their best and most pain-free experience possible, and she is typically available to squeeze patients in on short notice for “emergency” cosmetic procedures.

In her free time, Tammy enjoys being a mom to her young daughter and Yorkie fur baby. Having moved to Hawaii as a California native, she enjoys discovering new restaurants, hikes, and everything there is to love about living in Hawaii.

Dr. Craig B. Chun

Dr. Craig B. Chun

Dr. Craig Chun, MD, MPH, is a board-certified anesthesiologist with nearly 30 years of experience. Born and raised on Oahu, Dr. Chun attended Punahou School and Johns Hopkins University for his undergraduate degree. He received his MD and MPH degrees from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. He subsequently completed his residency in anesthesiology at University of California Irvine before returning to practice in Hawaii.

Dr. Chun has honed his anesthesia skills and maintains clinical privileges at Hawaii’s largest hospitals including The Queen’s Medical Center, Kapiolani Medical Center, and Kuakini Medical Center. He also has extensive experience providing anesthesia for outpatient surgery at Cataract and Vision Center of Hawaii, Surgicare of Hawaii, Eye Surgery Center of Hawaii, and Oculofacial Plastic Surgery of Hawaii. Dr. Chun is well versed in performing monitored sedation, administering general anesthesia, and providing patients with a smooth procedure and recovery.

In certain medical environments, patients and surgeons may not have the luxury of knowing who their anesthesia provider will be until the day of surgery. They may not know their anesthesia provider’s training, credentials, and experience and may be meeting them for the first time in the operating room.

At Oculofacial Plastic Surgery of Hawaii, Dr. Chun provides monitored sedation for all of Dr. Lee’s surgeries performed in-office and at our surgery center location. They have done many hundreds of cases together since 2021, so Dr. Chun is intimately familiar with the scope of oculofacial surgery and how Dr. Lee performs his surgeries. This close professional relationship and understanding between surgeon and anesthesiologist allows Dr. Chun to provide the ideal anesthesia care for Dr. Lee’s surgical patients, keeping them safe, comfortable, and confident in the team taking care of them on the day of surgery.

Outside of work, Dr. Chun enjoys spending time with his four children and his mischievous Pomeranian.
